OUR TOP SOLUTIONS TO TIGHT PARKING SPACES

There are two ways key methods to be able to solve tight parking; you either need to solve a manoeuvring issue or to create other parking bay below or above to increase density.

Additional parking spaces can be created on another floor. A vehicle access ramp would usually be required to access the second floor, however this consumes valuable real-estate, reducing overall density and dramatically increasing cost. A better way to achieve this would be to use a vehicle lift or elevator to lift the car to the second floor. This option is best for apartments or offices where large parking lots are required. Automated parking stackers is another option where large parking densities are required.

For single residence or grouped dwellings, car lifts can be utilised to lift vehicles up, or alternatively lower vehicles into a pit. This is a great option for a house that is architecturally designed around the mechanical lift and affords large vertical space to install the equipment.

The downfall of lifts is that to access the car above or below, generally the car at the ground level needs to be moved first. There are ways around this via the use of automated parking system, however this is usually only economical for larger complexes.

The second method to solve tight parking spots is to reduce the vehicle manoeuvring space required. This can be done by either turning a vehicle on the spot or sliding a vehicle into an otherwise inaccessible location. The equipment required to perform these manoeuvres are turntables and car sliders.

Turntables can be installed at almost any property that requires a vehicle to turn to access the parking bay or road. Turning on the spot as opposed to driving the vehicle into position, dramatically decreases the space required.

A car slider is beneficial where the additional carparking space is off to the side with no direct access. This can add additional bays into a garage without the appearance of having a large garage from the outside.

In summary, there are a number of pieces of equipment available to solve tight parking spaces, all of which have pros and cons.
