What We Offer
The Design Process
Installing a car turntable requires multiple disciplines to produce the final product. Since we are Perth locals, West Coast Turntables can provide a full turnkey product from design, excavation and drainage works, installation, and the Finished Floor Level (FFL) of your choice.
West Coast Turntables will work off your drawings and site specifications or perform a site measure to design a full turnkey package to suit your site and the way YOU will use the turntable. Other suppliers just leave the whole process up to the customer and only want to install the turntable, leaving the client to resolve issues and finish off the Finished Floor Level.
If you are building a new dwelling or undertaking a substantial renovation, we will also work with your builder to minimize the cost to you. There is no point in having two civil or grano workers on site when one will do.
If you require Development Approval for your project, we will provide a Turntable DA Specification Pack specific to your design so that your application is not held up due to lack of detail or clarity.
Development Approval
Development Approval is a legal document that gives permission for a use or development on a particular piece of land. DA is usually granted from you local government authority or Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP).
Development Approval is required for most building works and/or when changing the use of a site including
- Building a single house, grouped dwellings or multiple dwellings
- Extend or alter an existing building (including sheds, patios, garages, carports and pools)
- Build a replacement structure (for example, an old patio is being dismantled and another patio is being built as a replacement)
In certain circumstances, DA is required for a turntable. WCT will investigate if a DA is required and develop a DA Pack to submit to council for the assessment to be made.
The Product
We can design, supply and install turntables for product display, photography booths, cars and trucks up to 24m in diameter. We are able to carefully customize the turntable size to work with the site, vehicle movements, and rotational clearances depending on the types of vehicles that the turntable will service. Installed to either be flush with your garage or driveway grade or surface mounted on an existing surface with a 360° ramp to meet the turntable height.
The finishes we offer are chequer plate, paving, polished concrete, exposed aggregate, tiles, or a feature wood of your choice. We believe that offering a full turnkey product is vital to ensuring that the turntables deliver in all aspects, including aesthetics and trouble-free service life.
Functionality and maintainability is guaranteed with water and dust ingress protection ratings (IP Rating) so that the turntables can be installed outside a garage or inside with trouble-free service. Control is via the supplied remote control or the main control panel.
Manoeuvring & Swept Path Analysis
West Coast Turntables will provide drawings specific to your property to demonstrate how turntables can provide a solution for you. We do this by preparing a Swept Path Analysis and manoeuvring drawings that illustrates how our turntable will work at your property to improve maximize your space and influence the build form (building design).
Swept Path Analysis is the study of the path that a particular vehicle will take as it performs a manoeuvre. This is important as it shows that a design will work without frustrating, time consuming manoeuvres or damaging the vehicle or infrastructure.
Demonstrating that vehicles can be manoeuvred on site safely and without damage is usually required when obtaining regulatory approvals.
Turnkey Project
Turnkey projects or Turnkey services means that a contractor will be responsible for the full delivery of the project, from inception to handover. The benefit of this is that the client doesn’t have to engage multiple contractors and interpret the requirements, which can often become challenging and complex on a tight site, with the possibility of rework.
Engaging multiple contractors will result in a higher project cost, as each contractor needs to make a profit and cover their risk profile.
This also removes shifting the blame from contractor to contractor if things don’t always work out right or happen on time.
Maintenance & After Sale Service
To ensure trouble free continual service, YOUR turntable will include:
- On-site training of the product once it is installed,
- Operations and Maintenance Manual and,
- FREE post-installation service callout and maintenance (duration will be detailed in your proposal).
